Because the functional/longevity medicine approach works to correct imbalances in the major body systems, the particular condition or symptom you have generally does not matter. So if you do not see your condition or symptom listed below, it does not mean that I do not treat it. Please contact me if you have questions about your particular situation.
What I treat:
Autoimmune/allergies/ immune disorders
Cardiovascular disease
Hormonal imbalances (adrenal, thyroid, male and female hormones)
Diabetes, prediabetes, insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome and obesity
Gastrointestinal disorders including SIBO, SIFO
Mental health conditions
Neurologic conditions
Insomnia and sleep disorders
Chronic infections and Mold Illness
Fatigue syndromes
Chronic pain and Fibromyalgia
Skin Conditions
What I don’t do:
I do not provide primary care services. I provide consultative services only. You will need to maintain a regular primary care physician for those services and provide us with your primary physician’s contact information.
I do not prescribe narcotics and benzodiazepines.
I do not take you off medications prescribed by your other doctors. However, often you are able to discontinue or wean off medications as your health improves.
Direct Pay – Cash Only
I am a cash only practitioner, I do not accept insurance of any kind. I do this for the following reasons:
- Insurance plans do not reimburse adequately for the time it takes to properly address complex conditions. With shrinking reimbursements (often to increase insurance company profits), doctors have to see more and more patients for shorter and shorter times. Your doctor will never be able to adequately address your issues in this model.
- Your insurance is your insurance. If you wish to try to obtain reimbursement for services from your insurance, we can provide you a superbill to submit to your insurance company, but this is your responsibility. I provide healthcare. I am not a manager of your insurance benefits.
- Insurance companies do not pay for wellness and prevention. They are disease care companies. Payment occurs based on ICD-10 codes, ie, what diagnoses your doctor gives you during the visit. Insurance companies are middlemen who often siphon resources from patients and physicians to line their own pockets and those of their investors. We should all stand up in protest over this practice.
Next Steps…
We would like this model of healthcare to be available to as many patients as possible. We have therefore created a variety of ways for patients to get started in their health journey.
FREE: If you don’t have the money to get started in the clinic, watch this You Tube video interview with Dr Susan Peyrovi at Stanford University School of Medicine’s Integrative Medicine Department. Addressing lifestyle is the first step in any Functional Medicine plan and she does a lovely job of summarizing the basics. Sometimes this is all that a patient needs to do. Bing Videos
FREE: Complete your Medical Symptom/Toxicity Questionaire (MSQ). Cost: Look for MSQ score under the articles link. Your score should be less than 10. There is also a nice questionnaire in Dr Jeff Bland’s book The Disease Delusion. This book also explains why our current medical model does not work for chronic diseases and why a functional medicine model is needed to help such patients. Books – Dr. Jeffrey Bland.
Schedule a 60 minute consult with Dr Budde for one on one direction: $500.
Schedule a 120minute consult with Dr Budde and Functional Medicine Health Coach Ukoiya Duncan. You will spend 1 hour with each of us. Research has shown that including a health coach in your treatment plan significantly improves successful outcomes: $550
Schedule a comprehensive deep dive evaluation into your health (includes advanced functional/longevity medicine labs to uncover any hidden health compromising issues, cost of labs is not included). This will take 2-4 hours and is billed at $500/hr.
Don’t have the money or time to do a comprehensive deep dive evaluation? Schedule serial 30 minute lab consultations (lab cost is not included) to cover the labs done in an extensive visit one by one: $250 per consult.
Do It Yourself Functional Medicine. Cost varies. Although we highly encourage you to work with a qualified and properly trained Functional/Longevity Medicine provider (especially if your MSQ score is >50), you may order individual tests through our clinic as needed if you cannot afford to come in for an appt. A brief interpretation will be included with the test from Dr Budde for an added fee. This is to provide education only and is not meant to diagnose or treat any condition. The cost of individual tests varies. We encourage you to take advantage of the free resources above before ordering tests.
